Nikola Tesla is a Serbian scientist, born on July 10, 1856, he was and will remain one of the brilliant minds of our nation and a man who left great discoveries to the world.

Inventor, electrical and mechanical engineer, and futurist, best known for his contribution to the design of the modern alternating current power system, Nikola Tesla, was born on July 10.

He is the only Serb after whom an international unit of measure, the unit of measure for magnetic flux density or magnetic field strength, is named - the tesla.

Tesla's most significant inventions are the polyphase system, the rotating magnetic field, the asynchronous motor, the synchronous motor and the Tesla transformer. He also discovered one of the ways to generate high-frequency current, made a significant contribution to the transmission and modulation of radio signals, and his work in the field of X-rays was also noted.

His system of alternating currents enabled much easier and more efficient transmission of electricity over distance. He was a key man in the construction of the first hydroelectric plant in Niagara Falls.

Nikola Tesla is the author of more than 700 patents, registered in 25 countries, of which in the field of electrical engineering.

He personally met two Serbian kings, King of Serbia Alexander Obrenović during his visit to Belgrade on June 1 (May 17) 1892, and King of Yugoslavia Peter II Karađorđević in June 1942 in New York.

The Nikola Tesla Museum, which is celebrating seven decades of existence this year, as the director of the museum Ivona Jevtić announced for Tanjug, will traditionally open its doors to all visitors for free on July 10.

Apart from his scientific achievements, we will also remember him for his quotes.

The most famous quotes of Nikola Tesla

"I am proud to have come from an agricultural, chivalrous nation, which, in a constant fierce struggle for its ideals and European culture, has put Europe in debt and everywhere earned the honor and respect of the whole world, especially the great America."

"I don't regret that others stole my ideas, but I regret that they don't have their own."

"As you can see and hear, I remained a Serb even across the sea, where I deal with interrogations." You should be the same and raise the glory of Serbia in the world with your knowledge and work."

"If I am lucky enough to realize at least some of my ideas, it will be a charity for all of humanity." If my hopes are fulfilled, the sweetest thought will be that it is the work of a Serb."
