Disgruntled farmers from Šumadija blocked the center of Kragujevac in front of the City Assembly after 12 o'clock.

So far, no one has officially addressed them.

- We are expected to be joined by representatives of seed and chemical companies, butchers, millers and all those with whom we peasants provide basic raw materials, says Aleksandar Babić, one of the organizers of the protest.

Residents of Kragujevac, passers-by greet them with: "Congratulations", and farmers expect them to join them in the protest.

The police are regulating the traffic in the neighboring streets, and the people of Kragujevac have not joined the blockade for now, but they are serving the farmers with coffee and refreshments.

- We gathered because of the demands we put forward as an initiative for the recovery of agriculture. Our reasons, in addition to the basic requirements, are even more numerous, because everything is a problem in our agriculture. Not only the price of sunflowers, but milk, plums, pork..., explains Babić.

According to him, the tractors and machinery will not be moved until the demands are met, and they expect that other farmers from the Kragujevac area will join them.

- The problem is price parity. Everything we earn is immediately spent in the jump in the prices of raw materials. The state pushes us into a credit line, so that we pay all our earnings on interest. These are debt loans. We wonder if a peasant with a family of four can have an average salary of 40.000 per month, asks Slobodan Milosavljević, a seventy-year-old man from Desimirovac and the oldest protest participant.

- I came to support our demands and I hope that we will persist in this, claims thirty-one-year-old Vidoje Đurić from Luznice.

Farmers from Šumadija are in contact with those protesting in Vojvodina and other parts of Serbia, and their protest is taking place under the slogan - We will not die in silence.
